In order to enroll in a charter school, the student must first register in the school district in which the student resides. For any student who applies for enrollment in a charter school, a district board of education in which the charter school applicant resides shall process the registration of the student for the subsequent school year upon submission of the registration forms. A district board of education shall process in a timely manner all such registrations, including the assessment of residency and the subsequent transfer to the charter school.
There is one registration session for Galloway Township residents. The session begins on May 16, 2012 at 5 pm and ends on May 22, 2012 at noon. The registration dates and times for this session are:
Wednesday May 16, 2012 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Tuesday May 22, 2012 10:00 am to noon
There is one registration session for Out-of-District residents. The session begins on June 19, 2012 at 5 pm and ends on June 27, 2012 at noon. The registration dates and times for this session are:
Tuesday June 19, 2012 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Wednesday June 27, 2012 10:00 am to noon
Enrollment
At the end of the registration sessions, if the number of registration applicants does not exceed the number of vacancies, the registration applicants will be considered for enrollment. The Galloway Community Charter School will mail notifications to the parents/guardians of the status of the registration applicants within 48 hours of the end of the registration session. Parents/Guardians must accept the offer of enrollment in writing within 7 business days of the postmark on the notification. Upon receipt of the written confirmation, the Galloway Community Charter School will officially enroll the registration applicant who was considered for enrollment.
Lottery
At the end of the registration sessions, if the number of registration applicants exceeds the number of vacancies, the registration applicants will be placed in a lottery. The lottery will be held within 48 hours of the end of the registration session. A Galloway Community Charter School administrator will conduct the lottery in the presence of the president, vice-president, or secretary of the Board of Trustees, a New Jersey Notary, and two witnesses.
Registration applicants who are selected by lottery will be considered for enrollment for existing and future vacancies until 5 pm on the day before the first instructional day of the school calendar. The Galloway Community Charter School will contact by phone and mail notifications to the parents/guardians of the status of the registration applicants who were selected by lottery within 48 hours of the lottery. Parents/Guardians must accept the offer of enrollment in writing by the time that is indicated during the phone call and on the notification. Upon receipt of the written confirmation, the Galloway Community Charter School will officially enroll the registration applicant who was considered for enrollment by lottery.

District preference is honored for Galloway Township registration applicants during the out-of-district registration session and in the lottery.
Sibling preference is honored in the lottery.
Registration does not confirm enrollment.
Incomplete registration packages are not accepted.
The physical form in the registration package must be signed and dated by the registration applicant’s physician.
Students with special education needs, students who are English Language Learners, and other at-risk students are welcome at the Galloway Community Charter School.

A current tax bill for those individuals owning the home
A current lease which includes all of the names of the individuals residing at the location for those individuals renting the home
A month to month rental lease must include an addendum to the lease that acknowledges this arrangement
Two current utility bills
Your driver’s license
Return the forms to the Galloway Community Charter School with an original birth certificate during the dates/times that are outlined in the registration session above.
