What is a Charter School?
A charter school is a public school that:
- Is open to all students on a space-available basis
- Is independent of a local board of education, but governed by an elected board of trustees
- Is funded by the state and local tax dollars
- Is staffed by teachers who carry the same certification as other public schools
- Operates within a strict academic framework to demonstrate accountability and results to the state that has granted its charter
- Provides transportation for its students from Galloway Township, just the same as any other public school in a district
Do you need to live in Galloway to attend GCCS?
Students who live in Galloway have preference over students who live out-of-district.
Do students wear uniforms?
No, however, we do have a dress code for our students.
What does it cost to attend your school?
Galloway Community Charter School is a tuition free public school.
Do you have a Pre-K? How old do students need to be to attend Kindergarten?
We have Kindergarten through eighth grade. Children need to be five years old by October first in order to enter Kindergarten.
What do I need to register my child at your school?
On the day that you come in to register you need to bring the following:
- Birth certificate
- Two forms of proof of residence - (utility bill, lease agreement, tax bill, mortgage)
- Immunization records
- Copy of your child's last Report Card (if available)
Do you have a lunch program?
We participate in the Federal Lunch Program.
Does my child need a physical in order to attend?
Your child's physician must complete a physical prior to your child attending school.
