GCCS Student Artwork Auctioned
To Benefit Ocean City Art Center
Artwork from Galloway Community Charter School (GCCS) students was auctioned in December to raise funds for the Ocean City Art Center. The artwork was part of the Center’s “With Love For Our Children” exhibit, featuring art displays from local school districts.
Artwork from nine GCCS students, in grades K-8, was selected for the show. The auctioned art from GCCS raised $47, half of which goes to the Ocean City Art Center and half of which goes to the school.
“Only one of the works was purchased by family members,” said Karen Canizzaro, art instructor at GCCS. “All of the others were bought by people from Ocean City, Upper Township and Cape May, who did not even know our students. That made our students so excited and proud. They felt like real artists.”
