Students Design Ad
Who better to write a recruitment ad for Galloway Community Charter School than the students who attend here? That was the idea behind a recent contest held at the school. Students were invited to submit their ideas for an ad to attract new students to GCCS. In all, 25 students in grades 4-8 worked on 15 submissions.
The entries were so spectacular that it was hard to choose just one! The winning entry was compiled from the top selections. Congratulations to students Maria Hubbard, Alexia Kellum, Abby Lopez, Muhammad Lea and Helena Burgess! Thank you to all the students who submitted entries! Click here to view the ad.

GCCS Student Artwork Auctioned To Benefit Ocean City Art Center
Artwork from Galloway Community Charter School (GCCS) students was auctioned in December to raise funds for the Ocean City Art Center. The artwork was part of the Center’s “With Love For Our Children” exhibit, featuring art displays from local school districts. Click here for more info.

Food Drive A Success!
GCCS students celebrated Spirit Day this year by showing the true spirit of giving. They collected 216 pounds of food, which was donated to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey/Southern Branch. The branch serves families in need in Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland and parts of Burlington Counties.
Students from kindergarten to eighth grade participated. Special thanks go to teachers Deidre Morrissey and Stephanie Wilson for coordinating the effort. Congratulations to everyone on a great job!

NBC40: Kindergarten Graduates Release Symbolic Butterflies
Galloway Community Charter School held commencement services for 39 kindergarten graduates Friday morning. After singing songs, the kids were presented with diplomas, and released butterflies to symbolize the students' freedom as they continue onto first grade in September. Watch the video.

GCCS Families Raise $530 for Haiti!
Staff, students and their families worked together to raise $530 for the Haiti earthquake relief effort. The money was gratefully received by the American Red Cross for the Haitian Relief Fund. Thanks to all who donated. Every dollar makes a difference. |
